Senior Project Architect (Healthcare Projects)
Location: Piitsburgh, PA or Colombus, OH| Full-Time | Architecture & Design Sector

A well-established, forward-thinking architectural firm is seeking a Senior Project Architect with a passion for innovative healthcare design. This leadership role calls for an experienced professional who excels in translating visionary concepts into technically sound, real-world environments.

The successful candidate will lead project teams on mid- to large-scale healthcare projects, serving as a technical authority, mentor, and client-facing representative. This is an opportunity to help shape impactful spaces that improve the quality of care, while working alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead, collaborating with project managers, engineers, clients, and contractors to execute design intent through construction documents.

  • Lead design development and ensure cohesive integration of architectural, interior, and planning components.

  • Direct and coordinate the work of junior staff and consultants, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

  • Conduct and lead code reviews, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and secure necessary approvals.

  • Represent the firm in owner/user meetings and client presentations.

  • Oversee Construction Administration tasks, including reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs.

  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation and ensure compliance with all regulatory and industry standards.

  • Mentor junior architects and contribute to the growth of the firm's talent.

  • Drive innovative solutions to address site-specific challenges.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture required; Master's degree preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in architecture with significant experience on mid-large scale healthcare projects.

  • Licensure: Registered Architect required.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Construction Administration and healthcare design standards.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams and mentor emerging professionals.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and client management skills.

  • Software Proficiency: CAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Microsoft Word & Excel.
