Harper Harrison is proud to be working in partnership with an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm in their search for a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in power engineering for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Our client is a leader in the planning, design, and construction of critical water and wastewater treatment facilities. With a strong culture of collaboration, innovation, and impact, they are seeking a motivated and technically skilled engineer to join their established team in Walnut Creek, CA.

This opportunity is perfect for an engineer with 10-15 years of relevant experience, particularly within the consulting engineering sector, who is looking to work on meaningful infrastructure projects that directly support communities and the environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design of water and wastewater treatment projects with minimal oversight

  • Perform detailed electrical power systems design, including:

    • Load calculations

    • Conduit routing

    • MCC and switchgear design

    • Specification preparation

  • Conduct field investigations and support construction activities

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership within the team


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • PE license (Professional Engineer registration)

  • 10-15 years of experience in electrical engineering

  • Strong knowledge of power system applications such as:

    • Short circuit current calculation

    • Voltage drop analysis

    • Harmonic distortion and power factor correction

  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 820, NESC, and IEEE color book series

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills

  • Self-starter with strong leadership potential


Preferred

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Start-up and commissioning experience
