Position Overview
The Director of Site Operations owns overall operations for the 24x7 hyperscale data center campus in Springfield, Ohio and will directly manage the team on site.
Essential Job Functions
* Manage the operations and engineering functions at the property with the objectives of safely and effectively operating machinery and building systems
* Manage the site team to ensure a high-level customer experience and the excellence of operations
* Ensure availability and capacity targets are achieved and maintained for data centers and technical infrastructure for your assigned facility or facilities
* Encourage and foster a team-oriented environment through positive feedback
* Hold employees accountable on preventive/corrective maintenance of facilities equipment
* Ensure customers are satisfied and any issues with their services are resolved quickly and efficiently
* Must understand the engineering and operational aspects of the building systems and recognize system performance deficiencies immediately and respond to operational and emergency situations
* Ensure adequate training of all facility engineers and other personnel on electrical/mechanical equipment, system maintenance, repairs and operation
* Be responsible for the implementation and application of company policies on site relating to safety, security, quality, and information systems
* Contribute to the documentation of crisis management of the site and application of its process Work in collaboration with operations on all aspects of maintenance activities of the technical installations
* Demonstrate and implement best practices for a smooth customer project implementation, with the aim of completing the project in accordance with the contract, at the agreed price and delivering all other contractual obligations fully
Job Requirements
* Bachelor of Science degree in an Electrical or Mechanical or Technical background or equivalent experience required
* 10+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision, strongly preferred
* 10+ years of direct managerial experience and interpersonal skills, strongly preferred
* Experience in Data Center or Critical Infrastructure industries, strongly preferred
* Experience and knowledge of physical security in a critical environment, strongly preferred
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate internally with team members as well as externally with vendors and other service providers
* Proven track record of managing through periods of significant people, process and technology change.
* Excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines
* Work effectively in collaboration cross-functionally to achieve shared goals and deliver business objectives
* Travel is expected to be less than 5%, occasionally for training purposes
SME Cooling - Data Center Operations Amsterdam, North Holland
Data Centre - Cooling Subject Matter Expert (Director)
Amsterdam, Netherlands
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Centre Subject Matter Expert (SME) specialising in Cooling to join a brilliant team in Amsterdam but have reach across the continent. As an in-house expert, you will play a pivotal role in the critical operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in our client's data centres.
Harper Harrison are working exclusively with a global data centre developer and operator to continue their growth across Europe. This role is pivotal and will report into their Operations Director for their operational sites across the region with Cooling being a critical topic.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Initiate projects to enhance PUE, WUE, and operational processes.
* Ensure safe, effective, and efficient delivery of critical planned maintenance, adhering to high standards.
* Manage SLA projects to ensure 100% customer uptime across temperature, humidity, power, and PUE/WUE.
* Keep the Director of Data Centre Operations informed on all critical planned and corrective work.
* Plan and implement customer-requested work, providing timely updates to customers and the Director of Data Centre Operations.
We are seeking individuals with demonstrable experience in Cooling, ideally within a Data Centre environment, so your experience should include:
* In-depth knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical systems in the Data Centre environment, including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines.
* Commitment to organisational excellence, with a constant awareness to seek opportunities for process improvement.
* Excellent prioritisation and project management skills.
* Ability to meet committed timelines and work effectively as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail.
Required Certification/Education:
* Education level compliant with WEB level 4 or HBO with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
* STEK Cooling certificate and F-gas certificate.
* Mechanical and/or Electrical training/education, with a focus on cooling.
* Must have or be able to obtain Safety for Operational Supervisors training (VCA) and OSHA 30 shortly after the start of employment.

Technical Program Manager Switzerland
The Technical Program Manager - will provide consultancy, guidance and direction for delivery of hyperscale client projects.
The Technical Program Manager will guide and support our project delivery teams to ensure we meet our client contractual deliverables through the Construction stages. The Technical Program Manager will provide a client specific project delivery strategy and act as the primary Client interface during our construction delivery and fit-out stages, meeting client expectations, acting as single point of contact (SPOC), management of key milestones, build status reporting, risk management, client data centre acceptance and project closeout.
The Technical Program Manager will be accountable for defining and executing a delivery process structure that is used consistently across EMEA projects. The Technical Program Manager requires senior level leadership skills, client facing experience, a sense of urgency, and excellent team organizational skills across multiple countries and technology disciplines.
Tasks:
* Provides leadership, consultancy, and guidance to project delivery teams resulting in a consistent approach to hyperscale clients, ensuring lease and contract conditions are met.
* Act as 'Single Point of Contact' (SPOC) for the client including communication and escalations, and weekly update meetings and reports.
* Validate and support integrated planning of client scope with construction and fit-out teams.
* Manage client technical design and construction workshops with support of companies Design, Solutions Engineering, and Construction Delivery teams.
* Manage client related Design changes in coordination with Design, Solutions Engineering, and Construction Delivery.
* Acts as managerial interface including managing cross-functional teams across the project to ensure focus and consistent delivery of client contractual milestones.
* Accountable for tracking and risk management of client milestones.
* Accountable for client project reporting and controls.
* Supports quality control of handovers from construction stage to operations and client.
* Drives Client-specific health & safety initiatives per project. Coordinates with companies Health & Safety manager and construction project manager to ensure health & safety outcomes are being met and weekly reporting requirements are fulfilled.
* Leads client project closeout and completion of related project delivery checklists.
* Leads internal and client site tours.
* Drive lessons learned for project delivery programs. Lead continuous improvement programs, collaborating with Development, Design, Solutions Engineering, Construction Delivery, and Critical Operations teams.
* Leverage interaction with our Global teams: Engagement of technical delivery requirements and other resources for a consistent client delivery.
* Report on client EMEA programs across all projects to include project initiation, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and client satisfaction.
* Create and maintain partner relationships with supply chain, in collaboration with Solution Engineering, Construction and operation teams focusing on cost, efficiency and reduced delivery timescales.
Job practicalities / Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Experience, and qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related engineering and project management discipline.
* Deep understanding of data centre infrastructure design and construction techniques, operational requirements and challenges, data hall fit-out projects, equipment and technology advances and general industry trends.
* Strong knowledge of the construction and project delivery process and working with construction, general contractors, H&S, consultants, and design teams for hyperscale data centre users.
* Has the capability to determine electrical, mechanical, security, and communications related data centre scope requirements, solutions, and construction requirements.
