Job Description
With high-level goals provided, leads teams to design electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems, and other similar electrical systems of moderate to high complexity to meet project requirements. Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and approves completed designs. Performs power system studies and electrical calculations, including lighting simulations, layouts, communications, fire alarms, security systems, and related tasks. Ensures adherence to company policies and practices in all designs. Conducts site reviews and studies as necessary to align designs with location specifications and updates design requirements accordingly.
Contributes to technical knowledge management by developing white papers and design documentation for new or unique designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publication in industry journals. Collaborates with sales teams to develop proposals in response to client requests for proposals (RFPs), ensuring adherence to company, industry, and regulatory standards. Meets with clients to discuss their current and future design needs. Attends conferences and symposia to enhance the visibility of the company's services.
Acts as the primary point of contact for external clients and industry partners. Collaborates with clients and government officials to address technical questions and provides updates to project management as needed. Performs additional duties as required. Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff, mentoring them to foster professional growth. May oversee the work of junior engineers on project tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 12 years of relevant experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required, depending on duties and workload. Equivalent additional directly related experience may substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities Include
- Substation engineering and detailed design for high-voltage substation projects (up to 345kV), including:
- Protective relay schemes.
- Relay schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Equipment specifications and selection.
- Hardware specifications, including SCADA/RTU components.
- Knowledge of NESC & NEC standards.
- Substation grounding grid and lightning protection design.
