Client Service Leader - Water, Wastewater & Environmental Services

Location: Southeastern Michigan

Travel: 20%

Our client, a leading engineering and consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Client Service Leader to drive business development and client engagement within the municipal water, wastewater, and environmental sectors in southeastern Michigan. With over 40 years of experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across the state, they are looking for a strategic leader to build new client relationships, expand service offerings, and collaborate with a growing team of technical experts, project managers, and marketing professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand municipal water, wastewater, and environmental services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key municipal and private sector clients across Michigan.
  • Create client engagement strategies and pursuit plans to drive project opportunities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and expand strategic service offerings, including planning, construction, implementation, and alternative delivery.
  • Lead proposal efforts, business strategies, and presentations, as well as contract negotiations.
  • Work closely with project managers, technical teams, and delivery specialists to ensure the successful execution of quality projects.
  • Take an active leadership role in professional industry organizations to enhance visibility and credibility.
  • Lead select projects within your area of technical expertise to support project delivery and client engagement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering (or a related field).
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license (Advantageous)
  • 15+ years of experience in municipal water, wastewater, or environmental engineering.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, based on project demands and client needs.
  • Equivalent additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of winning and managing municipal water/wastewater projects in Michigan.
  • Established relationships with key municipal water clients in the region.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills with a business development mindset.
