Engineering Program Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the company's technology strategy, from investment through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Serve as a liaison between Engineering, Finance, and Operations, delivering comprehensive business cases.
  • Create and uphold systems for standard operating procedures and technical standards to ensure quality.
  • Oversee budget allocation and financial planning for engineering initiatives.
  • Conduct market research, attend industry events, and stay updated on trends.
  • Hire, train, and supervise new engineering team members, nurturing team growth.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to technical and non-technical staff.
  • Facilitate internal and external engineering meetings, manage workflows, and oversee project timelines and spending.

Project Highlights:

  • Implementing IoT-based remote monitoring systems for on-site equipment
  • Deploying low-voltage infrastructure for engineering support
  • Overseeing access control, building management, and video surveillance systems
  • Utilizing computer vision models to enhance understanding of property activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Automation, Network, Controls, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related field).
  • 10+ years in engineering roles (e.g., Project Management, Process Optimization); 5+ years in hands-on technical work (e.g., R&D, Product Development, Physical Testing, Machine Setup).
  • Proven experience supervising engineering or technical teams.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces, including lifting, standing, bending, and walking.
  • Prior experience in multifamily or real estate is not required.

Required Skills:

  • Strong background in electronics, controls, logic, and programming.
  • Experience shaping or guiding the strategic direction of technology projects.
  • Proven success in deploying technology projects.
  • Strong ability to lead cohesive teams and drive projects to completion.
  • Skilled in building and presenting business cases that communicate the ROI of technology investments.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Able to translate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness to research and quickly learn adjacent technical topics.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Deep understanding of engineering principles and logical problem-solving.
