Lead Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer

Location: North Carolina or South Carolina Offices

About the Role:
Our client, a leading environmental engineering firm, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to join their team in North Carolina or South Carolina. The firm specializes in water, wastewater, and stormwater management systems, with a strong reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions.

As the Lead I&C Engineer, you will oversee the design and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for water and wastewater facilities. This role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and serving as a key point of contact for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control system network diagrams, and control panel wiring diagrams.
  • Lead the design and implementation of SCADA systems, including SCADA Master Planning documents.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and approval of I&C systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate I&C systems seamlessly into overall designs.
  • Serve as the primary interface with clients, ensuring effective communication and project success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience in I&C engineering, with a focus on water and wastewater facilities.
  • Proficiency in developing P&IDs, control system network diagrams, and control panel wiring diagrams.
  • Expertise in SCADA systems design and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to I&C systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
