Position: Substation Automation Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement substation automation systems to optimize operational efficiency and reliability.
- Develop protection and control schemes for high-voltage substation projects in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), and related automation equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and support SCADA systems for effective data communication and monitoring.
- Provide technical support for system installations, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance.
- Conduct system studies, including relay settings and fault analysis, to ensure operational integrity.
- Stay informed about industry advancements to incorporate emerging technologies and best practices into projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in substation automation or protection and control systems.
- Expertise with SEL, GE, or ABB IEDs and associated software platforms.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as DNP3, IEC 61850, and Modbus.
- Experience with SCADA systems and HMI configuration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in CAD tools for electrical schematic design.
- Familiarity with NERC reliability standards and compliance.
