Harper Harrison is proud to be partnering with a nationally recognized engineering consultancy to support the strategic hire of a Senior Associate - Water Practice Leader for their Northern California operations. This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior water treatment professional with proven project leadership experience, technical expertise, and a passion for client development in the drinking water space

Role Overview:

The incoming Senior Associate will lead and support business development and project delivery across Northern California and Oregon, acting as a key technical resource and trusted advisor to both internal teams and external stakeholders. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of the region's water treatment capabilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with regional and local office leadership on annual business plans and growth strategies.

  • Lead pursuits and delivery of drinking water treatment projects from planning to implementation.

  • Define technical treatment strategies and design criteria across a range of complex projects.

  • Develop proposals, identify project opportunities, and cultivate long-term client relationships.

  • Provide mentorship and technical oversight to junior staff, supporting long-term team growth.

  • Ensure project delivery meets quality, timeline, and budget expectations.

  • Contribute to research initiatives and advancement of treatment technologies across the region.

  • Partner with multidisciplinary teams and internal technical specialists throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California (civil preferred).

  • Minimum 15 years' experience in municipal water treatment and project leadership.

  • Proven track record delivering drinking water quality and process treatment projects.

  • Strong communication skills with an ability to simplify complex technical topics for diverse audiences
