About the Role
We are seeking a senior project manager and practice leader to oversee and expand our land development and site civil practice in Charlotte, NC. This leadership role offers the opportunity to drive business growth, lead high-profile projects, and mentor a team of engineers while working for a top 20 ENR-ranked consulting firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven project management experience, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex land development and site civil projects from planning to completion
- Provide strategic leadership for the Charlotte office, helping to grow the firm's local market presence
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor for municipalities, developers, and private clients
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and project managers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth
- Prepare and review engineering plans, reports, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Identify business development opportunities, prepare proposals, and support marketing efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
- PE license in North Carolina or ability to obtain within six months
- Ten or more years of experience in land development and site civil engineering projects
- Proven leadership experience in project management and team development
- Strong knowledge of stormwater management, grading, utilities, and permitting processes
- Excellent communication, business development, and client management skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant engineering software
